A tragic and avoidable incident has occurred in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where a babysitter has landed in trouble after she negligently forgot a 2- year- old boy inside a car in a scorching hot sun.
The 35- year- old babysitter whose name is given as Glaucia Aparecida Luiz reportedly had a daycare business she managed with her daughter. They had about 10 kids they took care of from different parents within and outside their Sao Paulo city in Brazil.
On the day of the incident, the babysitter, Glaucia Aparecida Luiz, had just returned from somewhere with the 2- year- old boy whose name is given as Arthur Oliveira dos Santos. It is believed in some quarters that she had just returned from where she went to pick up the boy(his parent’ s home).
By the time she came back, she just parked her Black saloon car at the front of the daycare and went in without the baby. Although no information is given as regards the amount of time she spent inside before she realized that she left a 2- year- old baby in the back seat of her car, it is believed to be long enough to have killed the boy of suffocation and asphyxiation.
By the time she realized, she quickly rushed the baby to a hospital. However, it was too late for the medics to do anything at the time. The boy, Arthur Oliveira dos Santos, was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to a police statement, Arthur tragically and negligently forgot the baby in the afternoon in a boiling hot car under the scorching sun, outside her home where she runs the daycare.
She is currently undergoing trial and her lawyers said: ” There was never the intent to bring about such an outcome” .
” Glaucia and her family have been collaborating closely with the investigation to clarify the facts, not least because Glaucia did not intend to bring about the child’ s death or harm him.
” The defense passes on our condolences and the most sincere condolences of Glaucia and her family to the boy’ s relatives
