The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has debunked information circulating in social media on the outcome of the State governorship primary election.

The Chairman Osun State Governorship Electoral Committee, Mr. Joseph Abu, said that they had submitted the result to the National Working Committee of the SDP.

” A report has been submitted to the National Working Committee of the party which contains the actual result of the primary election conducted at the venue, in the presence of the electoral umpire in Nigeria, the INEC officials.”

Mr. Abu added that the preliminary election result was not announced at the venue of the primary election. “The committee smoothly conducted the primary election set up by the party’s National Working Committee. The result could not be announced at the venue because of the volatile invasion of unaccredited persons and non-members of the SDP,” he added.

The Chairman Osun State Governorship 2022 Electoral Committee explained that the breach of security did not affect the conduct or outcome of the exercise, conducted in line with approved guidelines and the constitution of the Social Democratic Party.
