Bandits have threatened to marry off Ameera, the k!dnapped daughter of Dr. Rahmatu Abarshi, a lecturer at Kaduna Polytechnic, if her family does not pay the ransom of N30 million and four motorbikes.
On Friday, April 22, the former head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was k!dnapped together with her daughter Ameerah and driver while returning from a charity expedition on the Kachia-Kaduna route.
Tuesday evening, May 17, the bandits freed the lecturer, but kept her daughter and driver.
Aziza Dangote Waziri, the niece of Aliko Dangote, confirmed the new development on Instagram, stating that the k!dnappers held Ameera with their wives.
“Her mother was released on the 18th of May but the kidnappers have asked Amira to stay behind. They took her to where their wives are and gave them some time to pay the ransom or they marry her.” Aziza said.
“As of 20th May, they are requesting for N30m and four motorcycles as soon as possible.” Aziza added
