The vice president of Nigeria Professor Yemi Osinbajo has given an assessment of the self-sufficiency of Nigeria as a country, saying the country wasn’t created by God to be self-sufficient.

Note that Vice President Osinbajo is also a pastor at one of Nigeria’s largest Christian congregation, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG.

Osinbajo’s assessment is coming at a time when Nigeria is grappling with grinding poverty, dwindling economic fortune, record high inflation, skyrocketing unemployment rate and worsening insecurity.

Osinbajo’s Assessment Of Nigeria Self-Sufficiency.

Vice president said this on Thursday, during the virtual 25th annual convention of RCCG – The Americans, this is according to a statement by Osinbajo’s media aide, Laolu Akande .

The convention session featured the General of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, his wife Folu and the Continental Overseer of the church in the American continent, James Fadel.

The convention also featured other guest speakers drawn from around the world.

In his speak, Osinbajo explained that God “did not create us to be independent of him”.

The vice president added, “He did not endow us with the strength to succeed without him. The God of new beginnings did not create us to be self-sufficient. We need him”.

Vice President Osinbajo cited the biblical story of Nathaniel, Who doubted whether any good thing could come out of Nazareth.

“Today, many men are saying the same about our nation Nigeria, even pastor’s. But this is the textbook case of how God works. He is set to give Nigeria a new beginning”, claimed Mr Osinbajo.

“In the midst of current travails, The God of new beginnings is about to change our story. He is about to do something new. Wiping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning”.

Obasanjo Shares Osinbajo’s Position That Nigeria Will Rise Again

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo like Vice president Osinbajo believes Nigeria is not beyond redemption even as he admitted that the country is facing mammoth of challenges.

Obasanjo explained that Nigeria will experience sustainable development if citizens unite to tackle the country’s challenges.

Obasanjo said this on Thursday at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun state, after a closed door-meeting with Uche Secondus, national chairman of the people Democratic party (PDP).

The former president said though the Nigerian situation maybe bad, it is not irredeemable.
