University Lectures Countrywide To Strike From Monday Ahead Of September Reopening.

University lecturers across the country will be going on strike as from next Monday ahead of the reopening of Universities for the new academic year where the first year students are also set to be admitted as from the 6th of September 2021.

This strike comes after failure by the government to honour the 2017-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) by some Universities.

So far, there are 35 universities who have not complied with the court order on CBA implementation and there also 13 universities who have not filed their returns to the National Implementation Committee.

This strike is expected to yet again disrupt the Universities Calendar after being regularized to the normal was after Covid disruption.
